Blair & Jeremiah - Pocomoke, MD Wedding

Remember a few weeks ago when hurricane Matthew blew up the East Coast?  Blair and Jeremiah will remember it for the rest of their lives, for it was the same weekend as their wedding.  He turned out to be a very uninvited guest.  Although it poured from early in the day until well past their reception, it didn't get them down one bit.  It was one of the loveliest wedding days that I have had the privilege of capturing.  I think it had to do with just how wonderful this couple is to work with, nothing fazed them and that will help them greatly as they face the journey of marriage together.

They got ready at her parents house along the banks of the picturesque Pocomoke River.  The grounds and their property is absolutely beautiful, so much so that we did their engagement session there as well last year.  We photographed until it started to rain sideways.  Fortunately, Blair made backup plans for the wedding to take place in a local church, but the reception was still held outside at her parent's house.  It turned out to be a fantastic night full of laughter, friends, their wonderful families and of course their love for each other was evident and couldn't be thrown off by a little hurricane.  We did return two weeks after their wedding to capture portraits of the happy couple and for that session we had an amazing night full of gorgeous light and these two loving on each other.  Best wishes to the happy couple.  We hope you enjoy the peeks of your wedding day.

Kristen + Craig - Denton, MD Wedding

Kristen and Craig are an amazing couple.  They compliment each other so well and have such a deep love of Jesus, each other, and their families.  Craig is a superhero of the greatest measure(he is a Pastor) of a church in Pennsylvania.  Now, with Kristen at his side they are destined for amazing things in their lives and in the life of the church that they pastor.

A few years ago they were guests at another wedding that we photographed and during the reception they were the couple who took the floor and were the swing dance masters.  It was fun to watch them together and even more of a joy to watch them marry and begin their new life together.  They swing danced at their own wedding during their first dance it they did not disappoint...perfection on the dance floor and such a great picture of them working together to create something beautiful.  I know that through their marriage that they will do just that, work together, love their God, and create beautiful things.

It was such a privilege spending the day with them and capturing their wedding.  We wish you the best in your journey together and we hope you love the peeks of what we captured during your wedding.  Congrats! - James and Cortney

Jessica and Jair - Maryland Wedding Greenhill Country Club

Jair and Jessica share a love so pure and true and deeply rooted in Christ. It is always such an incredible honor to be included in weddings and the lives of such beautiful people as this. Their families and friends were upbeat and encouraging through the day as the rain caused a change in ceremony location. The afternoon gave way to clear skies, fun portraits, and a wonderful reception in Greenhill's new barn venue! We hope you enjoy this sneak peek into the sweet Saenz wedding.

Marisa + Matt - Ocean City, MD Wedding

The rain couldn't dampen this couple's spirit on their wedding day.  Matt and Marisa were a joy to work with and it was a great privilege to be part of their wedding day.  They were married on the deck behind the Convention Center in OC, surrounded by good friends and lots of family.  Matt and Marisa proudly created most of the decorations themselves to compliment their winery theme.  Matt hand crafted and built the pergola they were married under out of beautiful rust colored River Birch wood.  Wine barrels were placed all over the venue and the place cards holders were made of wine corks.  Marisa looked stunning in her gown and Kara did a fantastic job with her makeup.

They were married by their good friend Brian in a simple ceremony.  To complete the wine theme they planted a grape vine together as a sign of their union.  What a great idea and such an organic one that will grow with them over the years and provide a marker of their special day.  They kicked off the reception with the most amazing first dance I have seen in a long time; an elegant ballroom dance.  It was a great joy to watch them move about the dance floor with such grace.  The celebration continued late into the night with toasts, cake, bouquet toss, and way too much fun in the photo booth.  Matt and Marisa - Thanks for having me capture your day.  You are a great couple and I wish you the best in this journey together. - James

Brittany + Paul - Wedding in Milford, DE

We are so grateful that our dear friend Ethan called us to see if we were available to capture this beautiful couple's wedding.  Brittany and Paul were married in Milford, DE at the Sunny Brae Mansion on a gorgeous mid-September day.  The mansion sits back from the main road on hundreds of acres of farm land isolating it from the regular buzz of the town and providing picturesque grounds for a wedding.  You step back in time the moment you enter the mansion with its multitude of rooms and delightful antiques.

Ethan and his team, from Diamond Productions, took extra-special care of every single detail of the day and had everything running smoothly.  Paul and Brittany were married in the cooling shade of two majestic oak trees while friends and family looked on.  Everything about this day was lovely: the weather, the horse-drawn carriage, the bridal party, rose gold and pumpkins everywhere, and of course the bride and groom.  Such a fun wedding and a delightful couple.  Congrats Brittany and Paul!  We wish you the best in this journey of marriage and we hope that you love these sneak peeks of your wedding day.  Thanks for trusting us to capture it.  We loved being with you.  - James and Amanda

PS-be sure to check out the list of amazing wedding vendors that helped make their day exactly what they had hoped it would be.  We highly recommend them for your special day.

Sometimes, as photographers, we pinch ourselves after a wedding like this.  Did such a lovely day really happen and were we able to work with such an AMAZING couple?  Cortney and Brett's wedding day was wonderful in so many ways.  We felt we were watching dear friends enter into marriage, we felt honored to be working with so many incredible people to help make this day absolutely perfect, and we felt so relieved that hurricane Hermine decided to stay off shore and provide us with beautiful soft light for the whole day.  Everything had such a touch of rustic elegance and sweetness that made it a joy to capture their day.  From the details, the reception, the bridal party and the unique venue we loved being a part of this wedding.  Congrats to you Cortney and Brett!!  We wish you the best in this journey as husband and wife.

Kristen and Craig - Engagement in Cambridge, MD

We got to meet up with this sweet couple in Cambridge, MD the other night for their engagement portraits.  Craig is a pastor of a church in Johnston, PA, a diehard Batman fan, and one who loves this woman beside him with a fire and a passion that is founded on their mutual love for One greater than either of them.  They love to dance, they love the Lord, and they simply love to be in each others arms.  We can see already from our short time together how awesome your marriage will be and we pray that it will be a blessing to others.  Thanks for spending this beautiful evening with us.  We are so looking forward to your wedding this fall.  Enjoy the sneak peeks!

Dane and Sarah - Engagement in Ocean City MD

A Californian falls in love with a Texan and they have their engagement portraits on the east coast of Maryland! I'm in love with these people! We had so much fun at the boardwalk to get these. I wanted to capture their hilarious, fun and silly personalities, as well as their deep and pure love for each other.

Dane and Sarah, I was honored to be there for the proposal, happy to take your engagement portraits, and overjoyed to be standing next to you at your wedding in October!

Much love, Amanda

Becky and Chase - Wedding in Havre de Grace MD

Becky and Chase - Wedding in Havre de Grace MD

Vandiver Inn - Havre de Grace, Maryland

Without a doubt the perfect location for the Lewis wedding. Becky put so much attentive work into the details of this day, and it was all incredibly gorgeous! Everything about this wedding had a personal touch, from handmade paper bouquets, to homemade peeps.

Becky and Chase's gifts for each other were enough to make anyone teary. Since very early on in their relationship they've been sending letters to each other - handwritten, vintage type writer, and telegrams. They compiled each letter they've written into a scrapbook, packed full of sweet memories!

They were married in the courtyard. A joyous ceremony, which emphasized their love for each other, with Christ as their foundation.

For portraits we went to Concord Point Lighthouse which holds special meeting to the bride and groom. They could not stop smiling at each other, happy to finally be husband and wife! They were ready for any creative photo opportunity.

An open bar, fantastic dance jams, and guests who really know how to party made for a very fun and memorable reception!

Becky and Chase, we are so honored to have documented your lovely wedding day. We hope you enjoy your wedding sneak peeks!
